Includes the Zyxel XGS-PON fiber router PE5301. For very large households, demanding home
offices and anyone who wants maximum capacity and future-proofing.
Cable internet and 5G share bandwidth with your neighborhood. Fiber gives you
a dedicated, direct line – no fluctuations, no weather influence, no excuses.
10 Gbit/s (10,000 Mbit/s) is more capacity than an average household uses in everyday life.
To be honest: for pure streaming, browsing and gaming, a much smaller connection is already
enough. This tier is mainly worth it in specific cases with a high, sustained
bandwidth demand.
One line serves several apartments or offices at the same time, each with its own bandwidth needs.
Your own server or NAS with regular, large and simultaneous access from outside.
Regularly uploading or downloading large raw files (4K/8K), sometimes with several people at once.
Numerous surveillance cameras or IoT devices with a continuous data stream.
Note: These examples are use cases, not a bandwidth guarantee. Whether 10 Gbit/s makes sense for your
specific situation depends on actual usage – if you are unsure, contact us and we will
be happy to advise you.
Important to know: The full 10 Gbit/s speed is only available over a cable via
the router’s single 10 Gbit/s LAN port – this requires a device with a matching
10 Gbit/s network card. The other three LAN ports are limited to 1 Gbit/s, and the
Wi-Fi speed actually achieved also depends on the individual device. For most
everyday devices (phone, laptop, TV), a 1 Gbit/s or 500 Mbit/s connection is barely
noticeably slower in practice.
During the order process, we ask for the number of your fiber outlet – the so-called OTO ID.
You can find it right at home.
The fiber outlet is usually located in the multimedia distribution box or next to the
existing telephone/TV socket in the living room. The OTO ID starts with A.xxx or
B.xxx (example: B.110.100.1). Please have it ready when you order.
No fiber outlet yet?
No problem – contact us and we will handle the entire installation for you in
cooperation with Swisscom. There are no costs for you or your landlord or property owner.
Duration from order: approx. 4–6 weeks.
The router supports XGS-PON with up to 10 Gbit/s and passes this speed on via the
10 Gbit/s LAN port to a suitably equipped device.
